We went to my hometown of Tomah, WI for the weekend. It’s the first time we’ve been since a couple of months before Owen was born so it was long over due. For everyone that we missed this weekend, we will be back at least one more time, but I think probably two more times this summer, so I will be in touch.
Kellen was barely over two the last time we were in Tomah, so this was the first time he was old enough to really play with his cousins and enjoy their big yards. We spent most of the weekend with my brothers and their families. I love Minneapolis and have no desire to move back home, but I do love and miss the comfort of smart talking between siblings and wish we saw my brothers more frequently.
Saturday we were lucky enough that Tonja and Tyson Pichette of Pichette Photography squeezed us into their busy schedule to get some updated family pictures. Both boys have changed so much since last fall! She put a couple sneak peaks on their Facebook page, that we love, love, love. I don’t know how she got this picture of Owen because he wasn’t offering many of trademark smiles that afternoon, but she worked some magic. I love his curly cues starting to come out. Here is the family picture sneak peek. Four M Family members looking in one direction – that’s pretty amazing! We’ll get the rest in a couple of weeks, I’m very excited for more! If you’re in Tomah/La Crosse area you should check out Pichette Photography.
Sunday, before driving home, we had a yummy summer lunch at my Aunt Jo and Uncle Mel’s house and Aunt Rose and Uncle Bill joined us. Rose had met Owen once when he was still in the NICU and everyone else got to meet him for the first time. It’s so nice to finally start showing off our little man in person and to spend time with my dad’s sisters. From them, I learned that several people in our family have food allergies – something I had never known and it helps explain Owen’s allergies.
